In mid-2023, recreational park Brielsekreek welcomed its first guests in a unique environment where the natural landscape and the industrial port area of Rotterdam come together. Located near the western border of Rotterdam and on the shores of the Brielse Meer, the park offers an attractive destination for both city dwellers and countryside enthusiasts. The park’s design responds to the relationship between water and land, featuring three different habitats: a river landscape, a sheltered beach with an island, and a rural area with canals and ponds.

Brielsekreek Park embodies a unique combination of recreation, nature, and architecture, where guests can enjoy the proximity of both countryside and urban life within a sustainably and flexibly designed environment.

The park accommodates 160 cottages of 8 different types, each designed for a specific purpose: Adventure and Comfort cottages are designed to encourage people to make the most of their stay with outdoor space. The Family 1 and 2 cottages offer spacious living and dining areas that can be opened to the outside and generally provide a very functional space for families. The Royal 1 and 2 cottages focus on luxury and comfort. The XL cottage focuses on maximum space for large groups, spread over 2 floors, with bedrooms upstairs and a very spacious living room with a large kitchen downstairs. All cottages are designed to adapt well to the landscape in which they are situated, with terraces by the water or on the beach, glass facades facing canals, and generally using wood that fits well into the context.
