The new collective landscape villa at the Hulst estate in Oldenzaal is a testament to architectural grace and environmental harmony. Its design philosophy embraces the essence of the estate, allowing the natural landscape not just to surround but to permeate through the villa, fostering a unique and dynamic interaction with the environment at every turn. This approach ensures that the residents, the estate, and the architecture itself coalesce to forge a new narrative for the Hulst estate’s legacy.
Characterized by its sleek horizontal lines, the villa exhibits an elegance that is both simple and transparent. This architectural gesture is harmoniously integrated with a series of outdoor spaces, each thoughtfully designed to resonate with the distinct qualities of the surrounding landscape. The structure’s foundational elements, warm brick cores, seem to emerge organically from the earth, extending through the villa and rooting it firmly within the estate’s natural topography.
This landscape villa crafts a delicate balance between its modern linear form and the estate’s lush, organic surroundings. It aspires not to dominate but to intertwine with the landscape, allowing the outdoors to seamlessly transition into the indoors. By dissolving the barriers between inside and outside, the villa amplifies the visual and emotional connection between the residence and its environment, ensuring that the ever-changing beauty of nature can be appreciated from any room, at any time.
Leveraging the natural elevation of the land, the villa is designed to give the illusion of floating above the landscape, a feature that not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also minimizes its physical footprint. Inside, the villa is divided into separate apartments spread over two levels, offering flexibility in accommodation and living arrangements.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of the villa’s design, highlighted by the incorporation of a vegetation roof.
